With major prop house closures such as Twentieth Century Props and the likes, what is to be the future of Hollywood? Is it destined to become a statistic like the auto industry? I sure as hell hope not. The auto industry failed due to making crappy cars and poor decisions. They failed to realize the need for an alternative. The film industry needs to step up to the plate. For the industry to even have the word bailout mentioned in the same paragraph should be a slap in the face. You think Buster Keaton had it easy making movies back at the turn of the century? Industry leaders need to take sometime to look over the scripts and really ask themselves, is making “Land of the Lost” going to help us or hurt us? And at what point during the shooting of the movie is somebody going to stand up and yell, “Cut!” Followed by, “This shit ain’t funny!” But who’s going to say anything? Everybody’s working at least. At least bullshit! There needs to be quality in the pictures. If not in Hollywood then no where. You make a crappy movie in Sarasota, Florida and everybody says, huh, what? You make a crappy movie in Hollywood and you got yourself a panic in the Showbiz Capital of the World! From Lionsgate to Disney. Restructuring is the name of the game. Quality not quantity will get us through. Long live Hollywoodland! I love L.A.!
